Parish Life

Union of Catholic Mothers

St Richards Foundation

The main object of the UCM is to offer love, sympathy, friendship and practical help to the family in difficulty, our parish and fellow parishioners, and other like-minded women.
We meet on the third Tuesday of the month in the St John Rigby Centre at 7pm.
We celebrated our Foundations first year in Feb 2014.  We are part of the Liverpool Archdiocesan UCM and together with other Foundations we attend Mass at one of the churches in the diocese every 2 months, these are wonderful Masses and give us as well the opportunity to visit and admire the beautiful churches in our archdiocese and to socialise with upwards of the 250 women attend these Masses.

We would like to welcome other women from the parishes of the Deanery of St Richards and surrounding areas to our meetings.
A list of our meeting dates is at the back of the Churches in our Deanery, and notice of our speakers is published in your Newsletter.

We have had a number of speakers at our meetings on a variety of topics including,
  • Arranging  flowers for church and simple flower arranging.
  • The Liverpool Cathedral sewing group
  • Living with Alzheimers
  • University of the Third Age
  • The work of Wigan & Leigh Hospice
