The St. Francis of Assisi Skelmersdale, 35th Annual Pilgrimage to Walsingham June 2016.

Friday 3rd of June we set off from the Church in fine weather and all the usual jollity,  a couple of comfort stops on the way, we reached Walsingham in the afternoon. After evening prayer we had dinner and a social gathering. Next day we had morning prayer then breakfast then we went out for the day, some to Sheringham, some to Wells others about the village. In the evening we had evening prayer with a torchlight  procession before dinner. After, a game of bingo to raise funds for our regular charity. Sunday, after breakfast we gathered for the procession to the shrine. Fortunately the weather was good to us and we arrived at the shrine tired bur dry. The Walsingham shrine is now a Basilica and they have a door of Mercy in the slipper chapel. Midday we had Mass with a baptism of a new baby belonging to one of the shrine organisers which made it a very special occasion. After Mass we went off for dinner then headed off home tired but refreshed, looking forward to next year.
