- Golden Anniversary 50th Celebrations
Our 50th anniversary is getting closer! Here’s a few things you need to know!
We are raising funds to pay for a great reception buffet which will take place after our celebration Mass on the evening of the 20th June. Here’s how you can help:-
Cabaret Night 16th May 2025
– doors open at 7:00pm. Tickets are now available at the back of our churches for The Cabaret Night being held in St Francis of Assisi School. Entry is by ticket only and there are only a limited number of tickets available – so please don’t leave it too late to buy your tickets: £10 for adults and £5 for children. Bring your own food and drink and be prepared for a great night of entertainment!
Race Night 6th June
– doors open at 7:00pm. Put this date in your diary for joining us in St Francis of Assisi School for a Race Night – if you don’t know what this is – there will be more details closer to the date – but it is a great fun night! Put 6th June in your diary! Raffle prizes. At the two evening events shown above we will be having raffles and even a quick game of Irish bingo – and we need prizes to give out. Do you have any suitable prizes you can donate? If so please hand them to the greeters at your church or pass them into the Parish Office.
Wall of fame.
We are looking to set up a “wall of fame” with any pictures you might have of special occasions at the church. Do you have pictures of Weddings, Baptisms, First Holy Communions? If so can we borrow them? All you need to do is either hand in a physical photograph to either the office or to one of our greeters in Church – and if you do this please make sure you put your name on the back of the photo so we can make sure you get it back – or if it’s an electronic image can you email it to the Parish Office: strichard@rcaol.org.uk
Please let us have as much detail of the photo as you can: dates, names etc.
The big night! 20th June.
This is our big celebration night – a celebration Mass in the church followed by a celebration buffet in St Francis school hall. We will be putting a list into each of our churches in a week or two asking people to let us know if they intend to attend the Mass and the buffet – we just need to get an indication of numbers. There are no “tickets” for either of these events – everyone if welcome – but we would like some indication of numbers to help in our planning.
